Wrexham County Borough Council has selected Bromcom Computers to provide its cloud management information system (MIS) across all of the region's 71 schools.

This replaces a previously used system that has served most Welsh schools for more than three decades.

The new software agreement also sees Bromcom supplying its MIS to 1,100 schools in Northern Ireland, positioning the firm at a unique point in the wider UK market.

By Spring term in 2025, all schools in Wrexham are scheduled to be moved over to Bromcom’s MIS.

Five ‘pilot’ schools are currently participating in the programme and are set to activate the system by the close of September this year.

The remaining 66 schools are due to commence their own installations by the Autumn term comes to an end.

The initial trial with the pilot schools will allow the local authority to complete the migration on a smaller scale before remaining schools transition to the new system seamlessly over the coming months.

Bromcom’s MIS provides schools with a robust suite of administrative, analytical and communication tools via an intuitive interface.

Features include a parent portal, clubs/trips management, and user apps for students, parents, and teachers.

Both parents and students will be able to use the app and portals in Welsh and English, which is a feature that was important to the are and a first in Wales.
