THE community of Flint will gather next month to celebrate local hero, Jade Jones, as she fights for her third taekwondo gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

After achieving her first Olympic title as a teenager in London 2012, the now 31-year-old was awarded an OBE at the start of this year and is considered a hero by many, including by those in her hometown.

Jade, who grew up in the community of Flint, will be cheered on by her family and friends on Thursday, August 8, who have organised a family-friendly event at their local pub, the Mill Tavern, hosted by Management Partner Kelly Williams.
