AN EVENING of live music is taking place at a Flintshire pub this weekend to raise funds for a hospital which helped "miracle" baby to survive.

Kylie Futia, from Buckley, went into labour at just 23 weeks into her pregnancy. With it being so premature, it wasn't classed as a viable birth and the main priority was saving Kylie's life.

But, amazingly, baby Presley Jacob Davies on the last day of 2023  at Arrowe Park Hospital - weighing just 1lbs 1oz, and was ventilated for the first six weeks of his life.

Presley needed around eight blood transfusions, liver scans, heart echo and rain scans, daily bloods and more.

Kylie said: "The team at Arrowe Park neonatal unit are outstanding and have worked hard to keep Presley fighting, he’s overcome sepsis, collapsed lungs.

"Presley is a true little fighter, our miracle baby and gives us strength each day."

To say thank you to the hospital, afford to buy another specially designed neonatal chair. This allows mothers to be able to hold their babies while their breathing is still controlled by a ventilator.

And this Saturday, the Blue Bell pub, in Buckley, is hosting a evening of live music and entertainment to help raise funds towards it.

There will be an acoustic set from Mel Griffiths, followed by a gig by Buckley's own rock band, The Blueberry Hawks.

The event, which also includes a race night, starts at 4pm and goes on until late. Limited tickets for the event are priced at £5 and are available to buy at the pub.

Kylie added: " Myself and Presley’s dad, Jake Davies, would like to thank all involved in Saturday's fundraiser at the Blue Bell and everyone who has donated money so far to help with the new chair for Arrowe Park Neonatal unit. "We are overwhelmed with everyone’s support."

Around £2,000 has been raised so far, with about £1,500 more needed to fund the chair.
