NEW FOOD hygiene ratings have been awarded across restaurants, cafes and canteens in Wrexham and Flintshire this week, the Food Standards Agency shows.

Wrexham 

  • Rated 5: Chirk Methodist Lunch Club at Methodist Church Chapel Lane, Chirk, Wrexham; rated on July 17.

  • Rated 5: Costa at Unit 6b Island Green, Wrexham; rated on July 16.

  • Rated 5: Cheries kitchen at Rhosymedre, Wrexham; rated on July 5.

  • Rated 5: Costa Coffee at Costa Limited James Park Way, Ruabon, Wrexham; rated on July 5.

  • Rated 5: Gourmet Coffee Bar & Kitchen at Wrexham General Railway Station Station Approach, Wrexham; rated on July 4.

  • Greggs, a restaurant, cafe or canteen at Unit 28 The Bridgeway Centre Bridge Road, Wrexham Industrial Estate, Wrexham was given the maximum score after assessment on April 12, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of Wrexham's 225 similar establishments with ratings, 206 (92%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.

Flintshire

  • Poachers Cottage Inn, a pub, bar or nightclub at Cymau Road, Ffrith, Flintshire was handed a four-out-of-five rating after assessment on June 7.

  • And Subway, a takeaway at 10 Chester Street, Flint, Flintshire was given a score of five on June 26.

  • The Crown and Liver, a pub, bar or nightclub at Crown & Liver Inn, The Highway Hawarden, Flintshire was given 4 out of 5 after assessment on June 12, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

It means that of Flintshire's 140 pubs, bars and nightclubs with ratings, 104 (74%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
