THE duo at a new Flintshire salon have thanked clients for their support in their first months.

The Hair Barn, in Dobshill near Buckley, soon marks the halfway point of their first year, after opening in March.

Business partners Liam Young and Kim Pennington have been bowled over by the support since setting up.

Liam, 36, originally from Glasgow, worked in Buckley previously for the last 10 years. He said: "We're both quite overwhelmed with the support that we've had, and a lot of clients have followed us, which has been great. Hopefully we'll welcome more new clients too.

"This is the first time either of us has had our own business, and I'm really proud of myself.

"It's something I've always dreamt of, and I thought if I don't do it now, I'll never do it.

"It's about keeping up-to-date with trends and making clients feel comfortable and leave happy. It's all about the client."

Kim, 32, from Drury, who has worked in the industry for 15 years, added: "I've wanted to do this forever, and it's been a really goody good start.

"I can't believe how busy we are but ready to welcome new clients on board.

"I just love everything about it and enjoy the challenge."

The pair, who specialise in hair colour, are also planning to give back later this year, hosting a charity blow-dry marathon in aid of Nightingale House Hospice.

The fundraiser, on Saturday, September 7, from 6am to 6pm, is by appointment only, with just a few spaces left.

On the day there will also be some stalls and a DJ, and anyone wishing to make a donation is welcome to pop into The Hair Barn, on Chester Road, Dobshill.
