A step back in time awaits visitors to Greenfield Valley Museum and Heritage Park this weekend.

The historical venue in Greenfield, near Holywell, will host two events on July 20 and 21 that showcase the area's rich past.

Saturday offers a public open day where visitors can view the current archaeological excavations led by Heneb – Clwyd Powys revealing insights into the Valley's transformation through time.

The event runs between 1pm and 4pm and admission is free.

Things get prehistoric on Sunday, July 21, with a Geological Extravaganza.

Animatronic Dinosaur and Brymbo Fossil Forest exhibits are planned for the day.

The event is on from 10.30am to 3pm and normal admission prices apply.

These activities form part of a broader scheme to improve the Greenfield Valley experience.

The plan, called the Greenfield Valley Heritage Park Improvement Programme, is partly funded by the UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund, Flintshire County Council, and the Greenfield Valley Trust.

It features several initiatives including additions to attractions, improvements to car parking, paths and entrances.

A public consultation event is set to be held on Thursday, August 1.

From 2.30 to 7pm, attendees can learn about ongoing projects and share their thoughts about the Valley's future.
