A HEART warming response to a single mum's Facebook request has once again proven why Wrexham is one of the best communities around.

These days, the Wrexham name - especially the football club - is known throughout the world thanks to its connections to Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

But, the people of the community itself have often proved time and time again why they are top class too.

Let's face it, we can all do with a helping hand from time to time. And, if you live in Wrexham, it seems you'll not be short of options of help from a friendly face or two.

A single mum took to the 'Wrexham Noticeboard' Facebook group this week with a request of finding some friends to talk to.

The anonymous lady wrote: "Hi I'm a single mum, I work, but when I don't have any work or when my son's away, I'm struggling a bit being a loner. I don't really have anyone to talk to, unless if my dogs count as my humans anyhow, just wondering if there's like a weekly women's support groups around Wrexham I can go to? Something like Andy's Man club? Thanks in advance."

The post was met with a heart-warming response from locals looking to help the mum out.

One commenter suggested that she visit the Yellow and Blue Hub's Crochet and Chat sessions on a Thursday between 7pm and 9pm.

There were also mentions of netball clubs, gardening groups, while others simply offered to stop and have a chat.

Julie Maddocks said: "Please contact Happy Hedgehog Cafe. They have a lot of groups who meet at their place. It’s just a friendly place and they are always helpful. Food is always fantastic too."

Ann Bridger wrote: "KIM-Inspire is great, check out their page and drop them a line… great organisation always doing something as a group. Very supportive and lots of people just like yourself. The first step is always the hardest, but once done it’s great."

Kim Davies added: "Ì have joined Coedpoeth Community Council with a focus on starting mental health support in the area. We have many ideas but welcome everyone's input if you have any thoughts on what we can do to help."
