THE LATEST leg of Ryan Reynolds' mammoth tour to promote an upcoming blockbuster has seen him land in South America.

The actor took over as Wrexham co-chairman alongside friend Rob McElhenney in February 2021.

The pair have taken the Reds on an astonishing journey from the National League to EFL League One during that time and developed a successful documentary about the club (Welcome to Wrexham).

But, Ryan's actor duties also continue and he is currently on an incredible worldwide tour to promote his latest film.

Deadpool & Wolverine hits cinema screens on July 25 in the UK, with Reynolds and Hugh Jackman - who is also a self-confessed Wrexham fan - taking up the main roles.

And the pair, along with fellow cast member and The Crown star Emma Corrin and director Shaun Levy have been touring Europe and beyond to promote the film.

The gang were spotted at the Euro 2024 quarter finals match between Turkey and the Netherlands in Germany, with Hugh and Ryan sitting down for a Wrexham-themed chat with Rio Ferdinand.

They have also made appearances at the likes of Seoul (South Korea), Shanghai (China) and London.

And their latest stop has seen them hit the famous Estadio do Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, which is home to Fluminense and Flamengo.

Whilst there, Ryan and co. met up with former Chelsea and Arsenal man David Luiz, who now plays for the latter Brazilian club, and fellow team-mate Pedro Guilherme.

The Canadian actor joked that he was on a 'secret scouting mission' on behalf of his beloved north Wales club.

And some members of the team even had a chance to take a penalty each on what is one of Brazil's most iconic turfs, as well as celebrating with their tops off!

Ryan took to Instagram to write: "Outside of @Wrexham_afc and the Stok Cae Ras, there are few things better than scoring a goal while standing in a hallowed and sacred stadium.

"But if I had to choose one, it's the gratuitous post goal celebration where one abandons all humility, grace and poise.

"Thank you David Luiz and Pedro Guilherme for helping me grow my athleticism but shrink my dignity."
