STAR Pubs has confirmed its plans to go ahead with a complete refurbishment of a Wrexham establishment despite it closing for business.
Last week, it was announced that the Trevor Arms in Marford would be closing down on Sunday, July 12.
However, despite its temporary closure to the public, leased and tenanted pub company Star Pubs has confirmed it is still seeking a substantial investment for the Trevor Arms to create an exceptional new business.
There are therefore plans to reopen after a new operator has been found to lease it.

The aim is to turn the outdated building into a premium local pub. Inside, the pub will be redecorated throughout. Other upgrades will include a new fitted kitchen, an overhaul of the bar and upgrade of interior. Externally, it will receive a new seating area, signage and lighting to enhance the pub's kerb appeal.
A spokesperson said: "Subject to recruiting a new operator, we would like to undertake a major refurbishment to transform The Trevor Arms into a premium venue that is a top quality local for the community and a destination pub for those from further afield.
"The Trevor Arms includes two trading areas, 20 letting rooms, a large garden and car park and self-contained accommodation for the operator.
"The Trevor Arms is a beautiful old building and a great business opportunity with the potential to offer excellent food, entertainment and sports screenings, barista quality coffee and a lovely place to stay.

Licencee Pratheesh Tharamalingam said the decision to step down on Sunday had "not been made lightly" and has been "very difficult to come to terms with."
However, with the current economic situation, decrease in footfall and decline in sales, it was not feasible for trade to continue.
