TWO friends have set up their own care company in Wrexham in a bid to "relieve pressures" faced by the NHS.

Lisa Jones McNeil and Tacina Evans-Hughes, have started Cariad Care North Wales, based in Chirk.

The pair, who both have backgrounds in healthcare, have set up the new company in a bid to provide care to those who need it in Chirk and the surrounding areas.

Tacina was previously a teaching assistant and worked with children with additional needs, before going on to become a fully qualified nurse.

A motivation behind Lisa and Tacina's idea to set up the care company, was to alleviate the current pressures faced by colleagues working in NHS hospitals.

The company will offer support to individuals across different living situations, providing assistance with personal care and offering companionship.

As well as social interaction, and help with daily tasks, medication, light household duties and specialist care.

Lisa said: "Tacina is a qualified nurse and I have worked in care since 2020 and we've decided to start up a care company to try and relieve some pressure on the NHS.

"With there being very few care agencies in the Chirk area we wanted to try and make a difference for people who want to stay in their own homes and need a little help.

"We will cover Chirk and the surrounding areas, for adults 18+ from companionship right through to end of life.

"Our aim is to deliver outstanding home care, and to be the best company around. We are very excited to begin our journey."
