A POLICE dog made an "amazing" start to his career after responding to reports of suspicious individuals on top of the new Lidl in Deeside.
North Wales Police's North Flintshire team said its officers raced out to reports of young males on top of the new Lidl, in Connah's Quay, armed with tools for stripping copper wire.
PD Vega, only two weeks into operational duty, tracked all three males to a garden who promptly gave up when they heard him.
A North Flintshire policing team spokesperson said: "Teamwork from the alliance dog unit, Neighbourhood Policing Team and response for a great result and three in custody.
"What a way to start the weekend!"
