FLINTSHIRE Council has issued an update on a Traveller encampment set up in a park next to a primary school.
Several caravans had pitched up at the King George Street play area in Shotton, situated next to Ysgol Ty Ffynnon.
Earlier this week, the council initially said it was "aware" of the encampment and that a welfare visit had been made in line with Welsh Government protocols.
Today (Friday, July 12), the council has said a couple of caravans remain at the site.
A spokesperson said that, if the caravans remain early next week, the council would begin the process of formal court proceedings in order to impose an eviction notice on the Travellers.
