A HOST of events are set to take place in Wrexham this weekend.

Fair Event Management are putting on a trio of musical and fun-filled events this weekend, starting tonight (July 12) with Swing in the Park.

Tonight's event takes place at Bellevue Park, with gates opening at 5pm. There is set to be performances from Chester Big Band as well as the D-Day Darlings.

Food and drinks will be on offer, but no alcohol or picnics can be brought in.

The event is supported by UKSPF, Fair Event, WCBC and City of Culture, with tickets available to be bought on the gate.

Then the Wrexham City Carnival takes place from 10am until 4pm tomorrow (July 13).

The free event also takes place at Bellevue Park in the centre of Wrexham and there is plenty on offer for all ages.

There will be a traditional fairground, stunt shows, dance performances and wrestling shows.

On top of that there will be lots of stalls, live music and food and drink on offer.

A spokesperson from Fair Event Management said: "This event is in partnership with Offa Community Council and is replacing the Offa Community Carnival with the new branding to encompass the whole of the Wrexham City as being welcome to join the carnival in the heart of the city centre and Offa Ward.

"The events team within the council have supported us fully with this move. We have worked with them to ensure the carnival is sustainable and will continue for many years in support with them. We ensured that after the committee were struggling with volunteers we have made sure Offa community had a carnival once again and it grows to offer more free activities within Bellevue."

It is set to be an evening of Disney classics, sing-along family favourites, and mesmerizing movie scores in a beautiful open-air concert.

Again, there will be food and drink on offer to guests, but in similar fashion to Friday's event, no alcohol, glass or picnics are allowed.

The event is free to attend, but it is ticketed, so those wanting to go will need to book in advance to guarantee a spot.

The spokesperson added: "We are looking forward to welcoming you to the event, where we will host a full 66-piece orchestra to perform some fantastic Disney songs and film scores we all know and love, including Frozen, The Lion King, The Greatest Showman, Harry Potter and Star Wars alongside many more!"
