A FLINTSHIRE community is gearing up to host it's annual carnival this weekend. 

The Hawarden Carnival takes place on Saturday (July 13) from 11am at Gladstone playing fields. 

The annual event is once again free to attend and will include the traditional fun fair, in addition to a range of activities and stalls.

There is also set to be the annual Hawarden Rangers football festival, Tae Kwon Do displays and much more. 

There will also be live music performed throughout the day.

A spokesperson from the Hawarden Community Events team said: "Hawarden Carnival is held annually on the second Saturday in July. 

"As ever there will be a fun fair with rides for all ages and Hawarden Rangers Annual Festival of Football. Deeside Round Round Table will be operating the bar and promoting their charity beer festival in August.

"We have displays from Samantha Denes dance & fitness, Darren Richardson Tae Kwon Do and Big Stars Theatre School as well as live music from local artists."
