A SITE manager has scooped a prestigious Pride in the Job 'Quality Award' from the National Home Building Council (NHBC).

Steve Parry, from Prestatyn, won his third accolade in a row for his role in overseeing work for Anwyl Homes at Croes Atti in Oakenholt, Flintshire.

One of just 449 winners from 8,000-plus entrants across the UK, the award puts Steve in the top 5% of site managers nationally.

Steve said: "I'm very proud to win a third Pride in the Job award in a row from the NHBC. It feels like we're on a roll now and everyone on site knows exactly the standards that the inspectors are looking for. We all take pride in maintaining those standards and it's a real team effort.

"I'm really lucky to have a steady team around me and they are a great bunch of people."

Steve has been based at Croes Atti for three years. He has worked for Anwyl for 39 years, 29 of those as a site manager.

The Pride in the Job Awards have been running for 44 years and provide a benchmark for exceptional site managers.

The rigorous inspection and scoring process includes attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise and health and safety.

Phil Dolan, chief operating officer for Anwyl Homes, said: "Steve deserves all of the plaudits coming his way for this third NHBC Quality award in a row. It's testament to the high standards Steve sets on site and the motivation he provides to his team. It's also reassuring for customers at Croes Atti that their homes are being constructed to the highest quality."

Steve Wood, CEO at NHBC said: "For more than four decades, Pride in the Job has underpinned NHBC's purpose of raising standards in house building.

"Winning site managers demonstrate dedication, passion and leadership to ensure new homes are delivered to exacting construction quality standards. While house building is a team effort, we believe the greatest influence on the quality of a finished home is the calibre of the site manager and the way they inspire their team. Congratulations to all the winners."

The Quality Award winners will now go on to compete for Seal of Excellence and Regional Awards in the autumn, with the national Supreme Award winners unveiled in January 2025.
