POLICE in Wrexham have warned people not to enter derelict buildings amid 'a number of reports' of such cases recently.
North Wales Police say the reports received included youths entering derelict properties and building sites across Wrexham.
Patrols have been increased in those hotspot areas as a result and officers are now warning residents of potential consequences.
Inspector Matthew Subacchi said: “Anyone entering derelict buildings or building sites can face being arrested on suspicion of burglary, and other offences including criminal damage, trespass and anti-social-behaviour."

He added: “Equally, these sites are not safe, and some might not realise the risks of entering what appears to be derelict buildings.
“This warning also comes ahead of schools closing for the summer - and concerns surrounding children and young people trespassing at disused sites.
“I would urge all parents to play their part by ensuring they know where their children are during the evenings and with whom they are spending time.”
