NEW owners of the cafe premises at the Greenfield Valley Trust Heritage Park are delighted with the success of its launch and are hosting a carnival themed funday to celebrate.
With stunning views of Basingwerk Abbey, 'Blooms at Basingwerk Tearoom' is the place to go after a walk around the valley or a visit to the Heritage Park.
To celebrate the launch of the newly refurbished business and a wonderful summer, the cafe is set to host a funday on Saturday, August 31 from 12pm.
The event will feature a barbecue, games, face painting, fancy dress, dancers and musicians with live entertainment for guests to enjoy.
Licence owners Ed Furber and Pete Fletcher opened the new cafe in March 2024 with a desire to completely transform the space.
The tea room offers a stunning venue nestled within Basingwerk House, the home of the Greenfield Valley Trust.
Alongside their then day jobs, the pair renovated the tearoom creating a calm and peaceful ambiance, complimenting the surrounding gardens.
Ed said: "We put in all the spare hours we could painting and redecorating whilst planning how the space would work best.
"Now it's complete, we can't wait to see everyone there at this years end of summer funday."
Ed's background in catering and hospitality meant that he was keen to create a menu that best suited the new space, while Pete's role was to finalise becoming a licenced venue.
"Less than six months after we first opened the doors, we have been busier than we ever could have imagined", Ed continued.
"We offer a summer food and drinks menu, as well as alcoholic beverages.
"The home of Blooms at Basingwerk House has been a cafe space for many years and has changed hands over the years, however we hope to stay for many years to come creating the space and offering we currently are."

In addition to the upcoming carnival funday, Bloom's is planning themed evenings as well as a wealth of events to keep the business strong during the winter months, a season they plan to remain open throughout.
"We hope to welcome many of Greenfield Valley’s visitors whilst supporting the work the trust and staff do on a daily basis whilst we build our fabulous reputation locally, making lasting relationships with residents of the area and returning customers."
During school holidays Bloom's will be open seven-days a week and will be open until late evening on weekends during the summer too.
