THE Mayor of Wrexham was on hand to open a new garden at a community hospital in Chirk.
Cllr Beryl Blackmore, Mayor of Wrexham attended Chirk community hospital on Thursday (July 4) to celebrate the opening of the sites new garden.
Funds for the development at the site, were donated by the hospital's Circle of Friends charity last year, with the work being completed last month.
It was officially opened by the Mayor, local singer Dollydoo, pupils from Ysgol Y Waun and patients from the hospital.
Sarah Jones, Activity Nurse at Chirk Community Hospital said: "Staff and their families donated a lot of the things that were needed.

"The patients have had a lot of input from planting to the designs. We have water features, windchimes, windmills and butterfly lights. It just a really nice chilled area for them to now sit relax and enjoy.
"I would like to thank everyone who helped us from gathering donations to making stuff that we've used, as this would not have happened with out you guys.
"I’m just so happy that the patients are happy and at the end of the day that’s all it’s about. The patients will look forward to so many afternoons here, as well as some events."
