SPELLS of sun and showers looks set to dominate in Wrexham and Flintshire this weekend. 

The Met Office are predicting a rather mixed weekend weather wise across both counties, with temperatures around 16C. 

Friday is set to start fairly cloudy, before some sunny spells in the afternoon. Temperatures look set to rise to around 18C in the afternoon. 

Rain is forecast overnight on Friday and it looks set to continue into Saturday with mixtures of sun and showers throughout the day. 

Temperatures will drop slightly on Saturday, with the Met Office forecasting highs of around 15C. There will also be some strong winds on Saturday evening, with gusts of up to 30mph.

A Met Office spokesperson said: "Outlook for Saturday to Monday: Sunny spells and scattered showers are expected through the weekend. Breezy, especially on Saturday with further outbreaks of rain on Monday. Temperatures generally below average."
