The popular Llangollen Railway Classic Transport event is returning this weekend however, this time, it promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

As in previous years, the quiet and peaceful Glyndyfrdwy Station, tucked away in the picturesque Dee Valley, is to transform into a colourful showcase of classic and vintage vehicles.

Over the weekend of July 6 and 7, more than 340 vehicles, ranging from cars and motorbikes, to tractors and buses, will be displayed.

Attendees have the option to travel to the event via the Llangollen Railway’s steam locomotives, offering the sights, sounds, and smells of a bygone era.

Event organiser, Tim Hines, expressed his delight at the upcoming gathering.

He said: "We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back to the railway for the great transport show that classic transport weekend has become, we hope you will support us with a ride on the train and enjoy the variety of vehicles on display over the weekend."

Parking for the event is priced at £10 per vehicle, which includes a free copy of the event programme.

Parking is cash only due to the signal at the field.

The Bar will be serving a range of bottled ales and beverages all through the weekend.

Glyndyfrdwy station master, Paul Bailey, said: "We are really pleased with how our new patio area has turned out.

"We look forward to welcoming lots of exhibitors and visitors to the event to join us for a drink over the weekend and take in the busy atmosphere of a usually quiet spot."

Wrexham Lager will be available on draught through the weekend at the cost of £4 per pint.

For just £5, you also get a special edition Llangollen Railway pint glass.
