Chancellor Colin Jackson has officially launched new industry-standard facilities at Wrexham University as part of its Campus 2025 developments.

The day started with the formal opening and tour of the latest phase of the University's Health and Education Innovation Quarter, which includes policing interview rooms for scenario study.

The rooms have 360 cameras for filming simulated officer and suspect interactions that can be used in skill and style development.

It also includes counselling rooms meant for counselling programmes, ideal for simulated sessions.

Next, the new Biomechanics and Performance Sciences Laboratory's doors were opened.

The lab, filled with cutting-edge technology, is intended to support Sport, Football, and Sport Injury Rehabilitation degree programmes.

The aim is to understand how the human body works using exercise, leading to improved performance and reduced injury risk.

A few of the top technologies in the lab are the Alter-G treadmill, Isokinetic Dynamometer, and Qualisys Motion Capture System.

Sports clubs will also gain from the lab, which will be supported by the Wrexham Centre for Performance's specialists.

The day ended with the reveal of the Cyber Innovation Academy, developed with Cyber Wales.

The academy will add more depth to the university's Cyber Security and Computing courses and provide a cyber security hub for the area.

It has a cyber escape room, meant for use by students and professionals from the military, police, NHS and local authorities.
