A student from Wrexham University has been spending her spare time volunteering in a charity shop.
Anusha Thallada, 28, originally from Telangana, southern India, is studying for her master's degree in business administration whilst also helping the Hope House Ty Gobaith shop on Chester’s Frodsham Street.
Ms Thallada said: "It’s such a different experience.
"I have learned many skills, things such as communication, dealing with customers, networking and made friends with the other staff too.
"Knowing that I am helping the children and families is also very rewarding."
The charity is appealing for more student volunteers over the summer.
Chester shop manager, Rebecca Hemmings, said: "We love having student volunteers and welcome contact from universities or colleges, as well as individuals.
"It can be so beneficial to young people who are looking to gain confidence and improve their skills in the retail sector.
"We provide training in many aspects of retail such as stock sorting and rotation, till operating and, of course, good customer service.
"Anusha is wonderful to have at our store and a real asset to the team."
Hope House Ty Gobaith supports children and families with ongoing care at their hospices in Oswestry and Conwy.
The charity is particularly interested in hearing from individuals who may be able to assist at their stores throughout Cheshire, North Wales and Shropshire.
If you or somebody you know could volunteer with Hope House Ty Gobaith then find your nearest branch at hopehouse.org.uk/find-a-shop and call in to see the manager.
