NORTH Wales Police have confirmed the death of a woman following an incident at the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct.
On Saturday, June 29 at approximately 10.30am police announced the aqueduct was closed off to all visitors amid an ongoing incident.
Emergency services attended the incident, and it has now been confirmed that sadly a woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
A police spokesperson said: "At 9.53am on Saturday, June 29th, we were called to a concern for safety incident at the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct in Wrexham.

"Officers attended, along with colleagues from the Welsh Ambulance Service and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
"Sadly, a woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and her family have been informed."
