SP ENERGY has confirmed a power cut is affecting the CH5 postcode area of Hawarden, Flintshire, this morning.
The company became aware of the problem at 7.37am after receiving 'no advance warning.'
Engineers have arrived on site to find and fix the fault as quickly and as safely as possible.
An SP Energy spokesperson said: "Restoration is taking longer than expected because of the extent of repairs required to the overhead line network caused by a birdstrike and our team are now working to get your electricity supply back on as quickly and as safely as possible by 1PM.
