A FLINTSHIRE company is raising crucial funds and awareness during their Health and Wellbeing Week.
From July 1-5, Liberty Care Ltd, a Flintshire-based company, are proudly hosting a Health and Wellbeing Week in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
Participating staff will take part in a virtual accumulated mileage challenge, by the completion of the total circumference of Wales (1,000 miles).
A selection of static exercise machines have been kindly donated by Avatar Fitness for the challenge at Sealmart House in Mold.
See the fundraising page here.
Liberty Care is operating a number of walking care rounds, and these mileages will also be included daily.
Families and friends are also being encouraged to participate by submitting any mileages accrued, using fit-bits and other apps. This could even be from walking the dog at home.
Arriving for work at Liberty Care in fancy dress is also far from unusual, and will be recognised and rewarded by attributing additional mile bonuses accordingly.
Domiciliary Care Practitioner for Liberty Care, Martin Davey, said: "The event has so far registered donations in the region of £130, even before any of us have actually mounted an exercise machine, which is the anticipated support we are always eternally grateful for.
"Previously we have also supported Alzheimers Research, Mind and Cancer Research. With the relatively recent passing of such a high profile personality, who lived with and was sadly taken from us all far too early by MND, such as Rob Burrows, it seemed the most appropriate cause to support, at the time of this events organisation."

The company provides support for individuals over the age of 18 who struggle with learning difficulties, physical difficulties, sensory loss/impairment and provide specialist care for individuals with dementia and palliative care needs.
Recognising that individual's need change, their flexible services respond to such changes accordingly, planning the appropriate level of care and support.
Their health and wellbeing week aims to raise crucial awareness for their selected charity, the Motor Neurone Disease Association, which provides support to diagnosed individuals and their families.
