A GRASS CUTTING which had Flintshire residents in stitches last week has been removed.

Last week, a questionable 50-foot grass cutting job had left Ewloe residents amused after a picture of it was shared to social media.

A photograph of the eye-catching work was shared across various community groups on Facebook this week.

It shows the word 'cook' having been cut onto the grass at the Big Park playground on Sheridan Avenue in Ewloe.

Although, some people on social media were quick to argue that it looked like another word entirely.

Some believed it had been cut that way to demand that Flintshire County Council have it cut - but the council confirmed that the land was not owned or looked after by them.

Now, to the disappointment of many who had admired it, it looks as though the grass cutting is no more.

An updated picture shared to the Ewloe and Hawarden Community Group on Facebook showed it in the process of being removed via lawnmowers.

Poster Oscar Williams wrote: "Removal of the c**k! Landscaping castration!"

The move seemingly left locals gutted.

Andrew Kavanagh wrote: "Noooooo. Best thing to happen round here for years."

Paula Woolley said: "Aww what a shame ...."

Questions remain over who was responsible for the prank and also why they decided to do it - but it certainly kept people entertained in its short-lived existence.
