Wrexham have been asked to play a League One fixture in the United States next season.
Mail Sport reported today (June 24) that the Reds had been asked by Birmingham City to play in the US next season.
According to Mail Sport, Birmingham's American bosses raised the idea of taking on Wrexham in America, with the pair set to face off in League One this season, but it was quickly turned down by EFL bosses.
If Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's Reds were involved, they would be part of the first competitive English fixture played outside of England or Wales.
The Midlands club were taken over by a US-based group in July last year with NFL legend Tom Brady having a stake in the club.
Wrexham's fan base has had huge growth since the Hollywood takeover in 2021, largely thanks to the hit docu-series Welcome to Wrexham.

Prior to the Reds being asked by Birmingham, the two clubs had been tipped to play a game overseas, with both American owners looking to host a match in the states.
However it seems that it certainly won't be the case this season.
The idea has faced backlash on social media, with several fans against the idea.
