A VILLAGE pub that reopened last year is preparing to hold its first festival event.

The White Horse in Churton, near Farndon, will stage Churtonfest on Saturday, June 29.

The pub is the first location of its kind for Elite Bistros who have several successful restaurants across the North West, including the popular Sticky Walnut in nearby Hoole.

As with several Elite Bistros locations, the project to reopen the White Horse was crowd funded, with more than £200,000 being raised for the pub's refurbishment.

The refurbishment was documented by Elite Bistros founder, chef Gary Usher, who was at the site almost every day.

Churtonfest will run from 12 noon until 11pm and will include face painting, cask ales, cocktails, pizza, music, hook a duck, festival hair, kids activities, kids tattoos and a coconut shy,

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the pub also said the event will include: "local produce, tombola, kids nail art, doggie gifts, gifts for homes, cake, coffee, ice cream."

A charity raffle will also be held to raise money for Hope House Tŷ Gobaith Children's Hospices.
