A WREXHAM Scouts volunteer aged 93 was among fourteen others recognised for their service at a celebration held at the Scouts’ Cox Wood campsite.

Malcolm Seller has been volunteering for almost 50 years – at 1st Wrexham, as Leader trainer, Gang Show producer, helping in the Scouts shop, District Chair and most recently as a campsite warden.

His service to Scouting is truly exceptional and was recognised by the Chief Scout, Bear Grylls, with the highest adult award in Scouts, the Silver Wolf.

Lead Volunteer for Wrexham Scouts, David Morris, said: “While all our volunteers are very special to us, there are some who go that bit further doing additional tasks on top of their main roles.

“I’ve known Malcolm for many years and he’s such an amazing man. For many years he volunteered alongside his wife Gladys who sadly passed away far too early, and what a team they were.
