WHAT a week it has been at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod.
"I always love coming to Wales" proclaimed the BRIT award-winning Paloma Faith as she took to the stage in this year's 77th festival.
Following on from the fantastic performances by Bryan Adams and Simple Minds, she certainly did not disappoint.
REVIEW: Rock star Bryan Adams kicks off Llangollen Eisteddfod with a bang
With no supporting acts, I was apprehensive the crowd would have warmed up to give her the best Welsh reception possible, but the atmosphere was truly electrifying from start to finish.
Singing her more well-known hits such as Only Love Can Hurt Like This, Stone Cold Sober, Lullaby and Crybaby, I was reminded of why I adore her distinctive sound and feminine force of nature persona.
She explains, following a challenging period in her personal life, a 'Bad Woman' is what she had become. And her chatty intervals made me appreciate her presence more.
She proceeded to treat us all to her newer releases from The Glorification of Sadness as she waltzed around the stage in an elegant black and white gown. While I didn't know these as well, her musicality created a lasting impression. And as soon as I got home, I played the album.
Her energy on the stage was truly contagious, especially as she kicked-it up a notch in the second half. The audience was left no choice but to chant the choruses with her as she expresses an unapologetic confidence.

Paloma's repertoire celebrates resilience, empowerment and self-discovery, and to witness that in my home of Llangollen was a truly unforgettable experience.
And lastly, to the Eisteddfod staff and volunteers. The concert was superbly well-organised. The whole evening felt seamless, making it all that more enjoyable.
Performances will continue on Friday, June 28 with Manic Street Preachers.
