SCOTTISH legends Simple Minds were the latest act to light up the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod stage on Wednesday (June 19).
It was another incredible night as the global rock icons were joined by fellow Scottish rock heroes Del Amitri to delight adoring fans.
For almost two hours, Simple Minds launched into a set that showcased songs from across their glittering career.
Opening with the iconic Waterfront, they continued with hits such as Promised You A Miracle, New Gold Dream, Belfast Child, and Don’t You (Forget About Me), before ending their encore with the massive anthem Alive and Kicking.

Standing alongside fellow founding member and guitarist Charlie Burchill, Simple Minds frontman Jim Kerr told the packed crowd; “What a pleasure it is to be here with my Celtic brothers and sisters!”
Special guests Del Amitri opened the night brilliantly with a set that included Always the Last to Know, Opposite View and Nothing Ever Happens.
The headline show was part of a new partnership between the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod and Live Nation promoters Cuffe and Taylor.
The series kicked off with an incredible performance from Canadian star Bryan Adams.
The likes of Paloma Faith, Sir Tom Jones, Jess Glynne and Kaiser Chiefs will also take to the stage over the coming days for what will no doubt be an unforgettable summer in Llangollen.
