A CO-OPERATIVE store based in Flintshire requires improvements following an underwhelming food hygiene rating.
The Food Standards Agency has awarded the Co-op in Hope on Hawarden Road a one-out-of-five rating.
Standards found at the time of inspection show several areas in need of necessary improvements.
Out of the three main categories, 'management of food safety' proved to be rated the lowest and was reported as 'major improvement necessary.'
This includes checks in place to ensure food is safe to eat and evidence that staff know about food safety.
Hygienic food handling, and cleanliness and condition of facilities and the building including hand washing facilities, pest control and an appropriate store layout, were reported as 'improvement necessary.'

The inspection, conducted on January 31, resulted in a disappointing overall rating.
A Co-op spokesperson said: “We have very high hygiene standards and were disappointed they were not maintained on this occasion.
"Since the inspection in January, all matters are now being resolved and a re-score is currently being processed.”
