ORGANISATIONS are coming together to host a 'Big Picnic' event in Wrexham this weekend.
The event takes place on Saturday (June 22) at Bellevue Park and forms part of Refugee Week.
The event encourages attendees to bring their own lunch and join for an afternoon of arts, crafts, sports, music, science, and storytelling to celebrate ’Our Home’ as part of national Refugee Week celebrations.
The event starts at 1pm, and all activities are free to take part in.

Among the organisations taking part are Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, Race Council Cymru, Bawso Ethnic Minorities & Youth Support Team, EYST Wales North Wales Police and Community Trust - PACT, Refugee Kindness, Welsh Refugee Council, Stand Tall Improv CIC and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
Others involved are UAREUK (United to Assist Refugees UK), NEWCC (North East Wales Community Cohesion) and Wrexham Council.
Refugee Week is the world’s largest arts and culture festival celebrating the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary.
Established in 1998 in the UK, this annual festival aligns with World Refugee Day, celebrated globally on June 20. The week runs from June 17 to 23.
