FIREFIGHTERS were called to an arson attack at a row of garages in Wrexham.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service (NWFRS) sent two crews from Wrexham to the incident in Rhosnesni yesterday evening (Wednesday, June 12).
A spokesperson for NWFRS said crews used two hose reels and a main jet to extinguish the blaze - which was out by 7.18pm.
One of the garages suffered 100 per cent fire damage in the blaze - which was started deliberately, NWFRS said.
The incident prompted a call from the fire service for people living in the area to keep windows and doors closed.
North Wales Police has confirmed that it is investigating the incident, and has issued an appeal for witnesses.
A spokesperson said: "Shortly after 6.30pm on Monday, June 13, we were called to assist the fire service at an incident on Dean Road, Wrexham.
"We are now investigating an arson as a result of damage to local authority owned garages."
Acting Inspector Rob Stevenson added: “Neighbourhood teams are working with partners and will be in the area to provide further reassurance to the community.
“If you have any information that may assist in the investigation, please call 101 or get in touch via the North Wales Police website, quoting reference 24000522698.”
