A WREXHAM village has shared exciting news as a brand new children's play area is set to open to the public.

An enclosed toddlers play area is officially underway in Rossett offering fun and enjoyment for families in the area.

The park features brand new equipment including sensory play, swings and benches for parents and guardians to be able to sit and enjoy the space with their little ones.

The project has come to light thanks to funding from Cadwyn Clwyd - a social enterprise organisation supporting communities in North East Wales.

A spokesperson for Rossett Community Council said: "We look forward to using the rest of the budget for the parks on new equipment for our older children, to complete the upgrade of the main park and ensure all age groups have a stake in our wonderful play area over the rest of the year.

"The first phase was this great new toddler area and we will now progress further upgrades for our teens and pre teens.

"We would also like to thank our volunteers who have helped plant bulbs, litter pick and support the work. Diolch."
