ROADWORKS have been confirmed in a Wrexham village expecting to last up to 12-weeks.
Major delays are likely in Rhostyllen along A5152 Wrexham Road as roadworks commence today (Tuesday, June 11).
Wrexham Council has confirmed it involves Section 278 Highway Improvement works which are being carried out by contractors SG Estates as part of the new housing development works.
A council spokesperson said: "We are working with the developer and traffic management company to keep disruption to a minimum, but as with any roadworks there will be delays and if possible motorists should try and avoid the area.
“The works will last around 12 weeks and will consist of traffic lights with road closures or one-way systems on the side roads.”
Following major delays in the area which have disrupted public transport, Arriva Buses Wales has confirmed their services will take a diverted route.

The diversion will be in both directions.
An exact completion date is yet to be confirmed. Traffic is set to resume as normal by early September.
