RESIDENTS of a Wrexham village turned out in numbers to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings last week.
Thursday, June 6 marked the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings - when in 1944 thousands of Allied troops landed in Normandy as the campaign to liberate Europe from the Nazis began.
On Thursday, residents of all ages in Cefn Mawr gathered to pay their respects.
Pupils from Ysgol Min Y Ddol, Ysgol Rhosymedre, Ysgol Cefn, Ysgol Acrefair and Ysgol Rhiwabon all attended alongside councillors and other residents.
A gathering was held at the Cenotaph, where ex-personnel Derrick Roberts read out the ode to the fallen.
