IT was a brilliant day for Wrexham as the Tour of Britain Women came to town.
Hundreds of residents lined the streets as almost 90 riders set off on a 140km trek across Wrexham, Cheshire and Denbighshire before finishing on Chester Street in the centre of the town.
Wrexham was celebrating hosting a stage of the women's race for the first time, having held the men's version in September last year.
Fans cheered the riders off at 11.15am and welcomed them back shortly after 3pm, as Lotte Kopecky made it back to back wins in Wrexham.
