A PROUD businesswoman has had the pleasure of representing Flintshire as a finalist in a UK beauty competition.

Michelle Inskip-Smith says her Holywell-based home salon came in at 10th place out of 50 shortlisted businesses across the UK in the 2024 UK Hair and Beauty Awards.

Over 48,000 salons applied across the UK, making this award even more special for Michelle.

The Leader:

She launched her dream salon just 12-months ago and is delighted to have already been recognised for her commitment to the industry.

Michelle said: "I opened last August and my books are full until the end of this year, I cannot take any new clients I am that busy.

"It is so much easier working from home with my three girls, I can work around them.

"I was actually nominated for the first award for the Welsh Hair and Beauty Awards for the best customer experience in my salon, (they are due to be held in July) and then I made the finals for the UK hair and beauty awards [and] out of 48,000 salons around the UK, I made the top 10 for the best home salon.

"To represent Flintshire means the absolute world to me as I’m just a normal girl who’s a mum and wife and I work hard to provide for my family.
