THE A55 at Chester is closed in both directions this evening (Tuesday, June 4) following a "serious collision", police have said.
Cheshire Police has said both sides of the carriageway are closed between junction 38 (Wrexham Road) and junction 40 (Tarvin Road) following the incident.

A spokesperson said: "Diversions are in place, but there are long delays and people are advised to avoid the area if possible."
An eye-witness has said there are multiple emergency services vehicles, including fire engines, in attendance.
Police have said the incident involves a HGV and a pedestrian.
