A HIGH street clothing store in Flintshire looks set to close its doors next month.
Peacocks, on Holywell High Street, is closing down on July 25 in a blow for the town centre.
A sign in the window confirms the closing date and says the nearest store following its closure will be Flint Retail Park.
After news of the closure was posted on a local Facebook group, dozens of people expressed sadness over it - describing it as "another nail in the coffin of the high street".
One person said: "Oh no. Please rethink this decision, it's so important to Holywell Town and the many customers. It's one of nicest Peacock stores around."
Another added: "That's a real loss to the high street. Great to nip in for bits rather than drive to the retail park."
While a spokesman for Peacocks confirmed the closure the Leader has approached head office for further comment.
