A MAN has designed a "stunning" postbox topper to mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
This Thursday (June 6) marks the anniversary of the Normandy landings during the Second World War.
Codenamed Operation Neptune and often referred to as D-Day, it is the largest seaborne invasion in history and was the start of the liberation of Europe from Nazi occupation.
To mark the anniversary, Nathan Griffiths, from Flint, has designed a specially-themed topper. It has been placed on the town's golden postbox - gifted to Flint when the town's very-own Jade Jones represented Team GB in the 2012 London Olympic Games.

Nathan said: "The D-Day post box topper is my way of showing tribute to the achievements and sacrifices of those who fought the campaign in 1944.
"The topper has been viewed by adults and children. While I was in town I could hear a mother explaining what the topper was for, it is helping to educating the younger generation.
"The topper took around six weeks from the initial design to completion."
Nathan is no stranger to making postbox toppers, with numerous designs becoming a popular feature of the town centre.
He has designed themes ranging from Jade Jones to the King Charles' Coronation, and numerous others.
His latest design has drawn glowing praise from members of the Flint community, with people taking to social media to describing it as "stunning" and a "beautiful piece of work".
