THE MAYOR of Mold surprised a new store owner by visiting Flintshire's latest business.
Mold welcomed another business to the town centre last month.
Owned by Richard Samuels-McKay, Direct Outdoors is "your premier destination for outdoor gear and apparel."
The shop features an impressive selection of outdoor and hiking clothes, equipment, outdoor accessories and camping gear.
Over the weekend, Mayor Brian Lloyd visited the store based at Unit 4 at Mold Indoor Market to show his support for the new venture.
Richard said: "As a local business, we're passionate about supporting the community that we're proud to call home.
"Our mission is to provide you with the best quality outdoor gear at competitive prices, so you can get out there and enjoy the beautiful landscape of North Wales.
"We're committed to being a part of the local community that we love. That's why we're proud to offer a personal shopping experience, with knowledgeable staff always happy to offer advice and guidance.

"We're also committed to supporting local charities and initiatives, and we're always looking for ways to make a positive impact on our community."
Growing up in the area, Richard added: "I love trading in Mold because you have regular customers off the weekly markets, and there's a great selection of shops and cafes around that support one another."
Customers are already impressed with the opening. One individual said: "This shop was an absolute pleasure and great addition to Mold. This will be my go to outdoor shop! 10/10."
