A MAN has been referred to a drug education programme after he strolled past police whilst smoking cannabis at a classic car event in Holywell.
North Wales Police’s North Flintshire team had been attending the event, which took place on Saturday (June 1) on Holywell High Street.
Officers had been displaying their Police Support Unit (PSU) kit, including vans, riot gear and a stinger system, when they spotted the individual.
In a post on social media, NWP North Flintshire said: “We had a lovely day at Holywell's Classic car event in the High Street today.
“Unluckily for our waistlines we were between Up A Yard's food stall and Coffee Cwtch - so we've eaten far too much lovely food, cake and drank so much coffee.
“We met loads of lovely people and showed off our PSU kit and Stinger, as well as offering smart water packages and community alert sign ups. We know lots of people got picture in our kit, feel free to share them!
“We spoke to those who brought their cars along about keeping their vehicles safe and secure.
“Really unlucky for one male though, who thought he could walk past a police van smoking cannabis. Stop searched and found in possession of Class B and referred to a drug education programme as an out of court disposal.”
