A man has died after falling from a bridge in Wrexham.
The A5156 Llan-y-Pwll link road was closed by police in both directions on the afternoon of Saturday, June 1, over concerns for the safety of the man.
Police negotiators attended but the man fell from the bridge and sadly was pronounced dead.
A North Wales Police spokesperson said: "Shortly after 3.30pm on Saturday, 1st June, police were called following concerns for the safety of a man who was on the bridge on the A5156 Llan-y-Pwll link road near Wrexham.
"Officers attended and the road was closed in both directions.
"Specialist police negotiators attended however the man fell from the bridge. Sadly, despite the best efforts of all involved the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Police enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
"Due to the nature of the incident, North Wales Police have informed the IOPC (Independent Office for Police Conduct).
"The man’s next of kin and the coroner have been informed."
