In a show of community spirit and generosity, local businesses and organisations are joining forces to host an evening of entertainment and fundraising for a popular event.

Nightingale House Hospice's annual Midnight Walk, set to take place on Saturday, June 29, aims to surpass last year's £64,000 total, with an ambitious target of £75,000 for 2024.

The Midnight Walk, a vital fundraiser for Nightingale House, requires more than 70 volunteers and 15 dedicated staff members to bring to life. The event's success hinges on the support from local businesses and organisations, whose contributions ensure that participants can enjoy a memorable and engaging experience while raising essential funds for the hospice.

Commenting on his Cadets volunteering their support for the event, SSI Harvey Stone, Detachment Commander, said: "Supporting the Nightingale House Midnight Walk is a fantastic opportunity for our Wrexham Cadets. They will play a crucial role in event marshalling and litter picking, and some cadets even plan to participate in the walk itself. It's great to support a local cause while giving our young cadets experiences they'll remember for a lifetime."

Elise Jackson, events and campaigns manager at Nightingale House, said: "We are immensely grateful for the unwavering support of our local businesses, organisations, and volunteers who make the Nightingale House Midnight Walk possible. Without their dedication and generosity, this wonderful event to raise crucial funds on the night and through sponsorship for the hospice would not be possible.

"If each walker raises £50 or more, the target will be within reach, ensuring that Nightingale House Hospice can continue to provide exceptional care to those in need. Just £60 will help pay for three 60-minute aromatherapy sessions for a patient. Every penny makes a huge difference!"
