A number of Chester city centre roads will be closed next week for the Duke of Westminster's wedding.
Hugh Grosvenor, the seventh Duke of Westminster, will tie the knot with Duchess-to-be Olivia Henson on Friday, June 7, in what is expected to be a grand occasion for the city, with invitations sent out to members of the Royal Family.
As part of the preparations, a large number of roads will be closed for public safety reasons from June 5.
Here are all the roads affected.
The following lengths of road will be closed from 8am on 5th June till 5pm on 7th June:
- Hamilton Place, from Crook Street to a point 45m east of Goss Street.
The following lengths of road will be closed from 7am on 6th June till 5pm on the 7th June:
- Princess Street from Northgate Street to a point 8m west of Northgate Street
The following lengths of road will be closed from 4.30pm on 6th June till 5pm on the 7th June:
- Northgate Street from Princess Street to Eastgate Street
- St Werburgh Street, full length.
- Eastgate Street, full length
- Foregate Street from Eastgate Street to St John Street
- St John Street, full length
The following lengths of road will be closed from 7pm till 10pm on the 6th June and then 8am till 8pm on 7th June:
- Bridge Street from 6m north of Feathers Lane to Watergate Street
- Watergate Street, from Bridge Street to Nicholas Street
- The following lengths of road will be closed from 5am till 5pm on 7th June:
- Northgate Street from George Street to Princess Street
- Hunter Street from Northgate Street to a point 155m west of Northgate Street.
The following lengths of road will be closed on 7th June for short periods between 10am and 1.30pm, including the exit of the New Market carpark.
- Hunter Street from a point 155m west of Northgate Street to St Martins Way.
The notice will also close the following length of footpath:
- City Walls from Bell Tower Walk to steps near Frodsham Court from 8pm on 6 June till 2pm on the 7 June.
- St Werburgh Street east side from the west door to Bell Tower walk.
- St Werburgh Street north side from Northgate Street to the west door of Chester Cathedral on 7th June from 5am-2pm.
The notice will also suspend parking, loading and unloading on the following lengths of road from 8am on 5th June till 4pm on 7 June.
- Hamilton Place, from Crook Street to a point 45m east of Goss Street.
The notice will also suspend parking, loading and unloading on the following lengths of road from 1pm on 6th June till 4pm on 7 June:
- Northgate Street from Princess Street to Eastgate Street
- St Werburgh Street, full length,
- Eastgate Street from St Werburgh Street to Foregate Street
- Foregate Street from Eastgate Street to St Johns Street
The notice will also suspend parking, loading and unloading on the following lengths of road from 3pm on 6th June till 4pm on 7 June:
- Northgate Street from George Street to Princess Street.
- St Johns Street from Foregate Street to Little St John Street
- Hunter Street from Northgate Street to St Martins Way.
- Princess Street from Northgate Street to a point 8m west of Northgate Street
- Goss Street, west side from Hamilton Place to a point 40m south of Hamilton Place
The notice will also suspend parking, loading and unloading on the following lengths of road from 3pm on 6th June till 1pm on 7 June:
- Grosvenor Street south side from Cuppin Street to Castle Street
Pedestrian access to premises situated on or adjacent to the roads will be maintained at all times.
