Humphrey Ker has revealed he doesn't expect Wrexham's constant success to continue after being on 'easy street' for two and a half years.
The Executive Director at Wrexham AFC joined The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X this morning, speaking as Radio X’s ‘Who Are You’ mystery guest.
Humphrey gave Chris and the team an update on the future of the club and the hit Disney+ series, Welcome to Wrexham, telling them that the series will only get more ‘compelling’ as it follows to club’s journey in the football league.
Humphrey predicted that the club will eventually find difficulty after being on ‘easy street’ since the club were taken over by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
He also admitted that he expects the TV series to focus on ‘triumphs and tragedies’ that the club will face further down the line.
Welcome to Wrexham is currently midway through its third season, with a fourth season confirmed to be coming to screens.
The fourth season is likely to focus on the Reds first season back in League One, following their back-to-back promotions.
After being asked whether the documentary would've gone out if Wrexham hadn't had the success, Humphrey said: "Oh yeah.
"So, I love the bits in the documentary where we win and get promoted and all the nice stuff, and it’s amazing to have this record of this thing that you’ve been part of. But actually, the best stuff in it, for me, is the stuff about the people, the fans, the real people, the trials and tribulations.

"I mean, football clubs are amazing things – it’s like a fishing net, and it runs through the whole community, and you scoop up all of these amazing people and stories and things, and that’s the best stuff.
"We do get asked, ‘what happens when you get stuck in League One for three seasons and you can’t do this and that?’ But actually, I still think it will be compelling, because there will still be on these triumphs and tragedies and us dealing with the difficulty.
"It’s been easy street for two-and-a-half years for us really. And at some stage it won’t be, and I think that’ll make very compelling television. You’ll see me go from Mr Cheerful, cracks jokes, to ‘oh no!’ You know, we’re on a seven-game losing streak.”
You can tune into The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X weekdays from 6:30am – 10am and on Global Player.
