OVERSEAS Wrexham AFC fans are raising vital funds to help Wrexham Foodbank stock its shelves.
The 'Eliminate Empty Crates' campaign is running until June 11 and has so far seen over £1,000 raised for the foodbank.
A Wrexham Foodbank spokesperson said: "We have partnered with international Wrexham supporters to help fill the empty crates at Wrexham Foodbank. Your donations will provide essential food for people in crisis.
"Last year we gave out thousands of food parcels for families and individuals. With the cost of living hitting everyone, our food donations are decreasing and need for food parcels is increasing.
"Many of the crates in our warehouse that were full a few years ago are now empty. Our long term vision is a Wrexham without the need for food banks but in the meantime, with your help we will be there for those that need us."
Anyone wishing to donate to the fundraiser can do so via https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/eliminate-empty-crates.
Jay, a Wrexham fan from New York, said: "We started the campaign with an initial £300 match fund and quickly blew through that. Jeff Plain from Alabama and John Craig from Tennessee reached out and have pledged another £600 in matching funds, which is great.
"The next £600 the campaign raises will be matched pound for pound by these two gents. If someone gives £10, their impact will actually be £20 since their funds will be matched by Jeff and John. It's a great way to motivate people to donate.
"If we manage to get that total to £1,500 by June 11, Jeff and John will add the full £600 match and then total raised will jump to £2,100. Hopefully we will ultimately raise more than that but for now, that is our immediate goal."

He added: "With the season just ended, I thought this might be a good way for people to stay connected with the community of Wrexham.
"The foodbank is a place that I and my family support and whenever I'm in Wrexham, we always do a big shop and make a physical donation as well.
"But not everyone can do that so fundraising campaigns are a great way for people from all over the world to get involved, every single donation makes a difference."
