HALF-a-dozen shopping trollies were among the rubbish pulled out of a Wrexham river by volunteers this weekend.
The Wrexham Litter Pickers group, which started in February 2021, carried out a session along the River Gwenfro on Sunday morning.
Some 18 bags were filled with litter and a number of other items were found, including: six shopping trollies, cabling, a paddling pool, soiled clothing, a play house, bikes and scooters.
James Pugh, treasurer, said: "That's the most trollies we've ever collected in one go.
"It's a never ending issue.
"We've found a lot of mattress in the Gwenfro in the past. We've seen it all - nothing surprises us any more."

Mr Pugh, 38, said he got involved with the group after becoming "disheartened" by how much litter was around his neighbourhood.
He added: "I saw someone else picking up the rubbish and it inspired me to join in.
"I hope that other people seeing us picking it up might encourage more to help.
"There's so much rubbish out there, it's going to take an army to get rid of it."
